I’ve been doing most of the structural engineering for Lovett Homes since the late 1980’s. Lovett has always been a conscientious builder where structure is concerned. Lovett was my first builder that utilized a structurally isolated foundation for upper end residences built on expansive soils. Even in the 1980’s, before it was customary and usual, Lovett was my first client that always had the engineer of record review the foundation make-up prior to concrete placement and provide a letter for the buyer.  Lovett wrapped the exterior of the residences in plywood or OSB providing much greater residence to hurricane force winds as a standard before it was widely adopted. Most builders want to reduce the structural integrity, always asking what to cut.  Lovett has never questioned my residential structural design. This is why I enjoy doing the structural design for Lovett Homes.
